Oboe d'amore 415 Hz

after Johann Heinrich Eichentopf (1686-1769)
Musical Instrument Museum, Leipzig

Johann Heinrich Eichentopf worked as a master "Pfeifenmacher" (pipe-maker) and built woodwind and brass instruments.
The distinctive shape of the bell gives this oboe its gentle and sonorous sound.
Eichentopf had regular contact with J. S. Bach, who used the "oboe of love" in many of his cantatas.

The instrument is made of European boxwood. Other wood is available by request.
Each instrument includes a soft case, a basic staple and a fingering chart.
